Security Project Manager

Department:Security Team
Location:Elkhorn (Omaha), NE


The Security Project Manager shall manage, troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain access control systems, electronic key systems, locking devices, visitor management systems, IP video surveillance and any other hardware related to those systems and devices. The position’s first responsibility is to be the technical subject matter expert on the solutions deployed. Additional responsibilities include managing the financial health of all projects and maintaining customer satisfaction. The position requires management skills in addition to leadership responsibilities. 


  • Manage all direct reports to ensure company policies and practices are followed
  • Oversee and manage financial health of all projects
  • Interact with all clients and be the face of Prime Communications
  • Prepare and submit reports as required
  • Install, maintain, and repair locking devices and related hardware on all doors, including low voltage electric door hardware
  • Install, maintain, and repair video surveillance systems including cameras, software, and peripheral devices
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on alarm, access, and video systems
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair access control, alarm, video systems, and all related components
  • Program alarm systems, access systems, and IP video surveillance systems 
  • Ensure departmental daily records are maintained and accurate


  • A high school diploma or equivalent (vocational/technical/business school background is strongly preferred)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the security industry
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work and be successful with limited supervision
  • Must be willing and have the ability to move into a management position
  • Experience with low voltage wiring and knowledge of the aspects of security equipment (cameras, maglocks, panels, etc.) installation is required
  • Must have a good understanding of strike wire, data cabling, connectors, door contacts, hardware, and installation of cameras and software
  • Must have experience using test equipment
  • Must understand the fundamentals of electricity including relay logic circuits


  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to regional job sites
  • Ability to read blue prints is required
  • Must have the ability to hear tones and audio from test and operational equipment
  • Good judgment is required
  • Must be organized
  • Strong customer service skills are required


  • Industry certifications


  • Probationary period of 90 days
  • Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY not be hired
  • Individuals must not have any alcohol or drug-related convictions or suspensions within the past three years
  • Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Individual must be able to pass a drug and physical screening as well as a background check
  • Individual must be available to work variable hours
