JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the day-to-day management of patient care activities and supervision of clinical staff. Serves as a consultant to hospice staff. Participates in quality improvement program and the evaluation of nursing and other clinical services. Supports the Provider Relations and volunteer activities of the organization. Supervises patient care team in the delivery of patient/family care. Supervises and assesses the quality of contracted services in relation to patient care. Receives and assigns case referrals to personnel. Assists director of clinical services in ensuring that all patient/family services comply with federal, state(s) and local regulatory requirements and with accepted professional standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be a registered nurse with a current state license.

Must demonstrate a proven competency in all aspects of IV therapy.

Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as staff nurse in an acute care hospital or home health agency. Experience in dealing with dying patients and their families with a good understanding of pain/symptom management.

Must have a minimum of one-year of supervisory experience.

Must demonstrate an ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families in a home setting.

Must be skilled in nursing practices, able to cope with family emotional stress, and must be tolerant of individual lifestyles.

Must have 24-hour access to a reliable motor vehicle and must maintain a valid driver's license and maintain automobile insurance that complies with state and company regulations.

Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.

Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test, and pass post-employment physical exam if required.

Must be capable of performing the essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
