ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
The Business Analysts primary responsibility is to serve as the conduit between customers (internal and external) and the software development team through which requirements flow. The objective is to make business processes and product delivery more effective through a proper use of technology. The second area of responsibility for the Business Analyst is to provide consultative support to the Sales and Operations organizations. Successful expectation setting during the sales process and configuration during the implementation process will correlate to higher client / participant satisfaction.
Regular Job Functions
Gather requirements through interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using both technical and natural language (functional and business requirements documents, test/use cases, UI designs).
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully operate.
Be the ongoing liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams and a technical resource regarding the softwares configuration, capabilities and limitations.
Provide technical support during the sales and implementation processes to ensure proper expectations are set with the customer. This includes direct interaction with the customer.
Review and recommend best-practice system configuration for new clients.
Participate in the preparation and review of release related documentation and training materials to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of the information being communicated.
Education, Skill and Experience Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Ability to multi-task and set priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
Bachelors degree (MBA a plus)
Two plus years of relevant business experience
Proficient use of MS Office suite (or equivalent)
Some travel may be required
