Description
Develops new accounts and grows existing accounts. Develops and executes strategy to cultivate relationships to acquire new business. Conducts strategic planning activities to ensure customer's product or service needs are anticipated. May be responsible for an assigned module of accounts or a specific geographic area. Incumbents focus on critical, large, complex, high visibility, strategic, or tactically important accounts. Maintains a complete knowledge of the organization's products, services and policies. This is the most senior level individual contributor sales account manager. Viewed as an expert by the company and in the field. Considered a skilled customer relationship builder and expert seller. Effectively influences customers and diffuses potential problems. Anticipates the customer's needs and provides solutions. May assist others with the most difficult/tough sales. Responsible for a very high quota or an exceptionally large territory as compared to other sellers in the organization. Often responsible for the development of new business opportunities in emerging areas. May have a leadership role. Establishes and maintains influential relationships at all levels. Builds and maintains a network of colleagues and customers to share information and obtain prospects. Operates under considerable latitude. Typically 12+ years direct work experience.
